Coach Dana — One Percent Better Forever



I started college as a math major, but a pivotal moment changed my path forever. My grandmother, who always battled her weight, passed away too young. A doctor once said that if she had been more active and healthier, things might have turned out differently. That small bit of hope for more time with her inspired me to switch my major to Exercise Science.

Although I always played sports, I hadn’t truly embraced training until I got to the gym. At the University of Louisville, I began learning how to train and landed an internship at a local gym that taught group classes. I worked my way up, eventually owning the gym. Yet, owning a business didn’t align with the life I wanted to lead. I realized I couldn’t give 100% to my clients while also prioritizing my family. So I sold the business to focus on personal training and, most importantly, on my family.

Today, my mission is simple: help people live their best life — to be healthy, confident, and able to do the things they love for as long as they want to do them. To me, movement isn’t just important; it’s VITAL.

What I love about this industry is witnessing meaningful changes in people’s daily lives. My dad is a perfect example: when he began working out, small things like going up and down stairs or being able to change the oil in the car without getting winded became possible again. It’s not just about losing weight or setting a personal record — though those milestones are incredible. It’s about the practical improvements that uplift everyday life. Those moments are why I’m passionate about coaching.
